Complete sentences not required.

Sometimes I can’t speak in complete sentences.

I usually lead with the context for a thought, laying the groundwork for making sense of the thing I wanted to say; turns out, that takes a lot of time.
And energy.

And it presupposes that I need explaining and making-sense-of.

I don’t, always.

My thoughts don’t need qualifiers or birth certificates.
They exist.
I’m saying them.
End of list.

I wonder if you do this, too.

Do you start saying the thing you actually wanted to say only to stop halfway through to make sure to clarify *how* you decided to give it voice & volume?

Do you spend ten minutes sharing the origin story of your thought only to forget what it is by the time you’re done, leaving you to retrace and retell, wearing down the shine of your message?

Is it because you feel like no one could possibly understand the landscape of your brain?

Is it because you want to control how you’re heard and understood?

Is it because you’re begging for legitimacy and respect?

Is it because you spend so much time alone in your mind that you feel you have to carefully shepherd someone in?

Are you ever afraid you’ll let them in & they’ll want to leave?

What’s keeping you inside the hamster wheel of saying ten things before your One Precious Thing?

If you feel safe sharing yours here, please do: no qualifications or explanations necessary.
