In your own words, on your own terms

I became a writer because I believe in the courage necessary to ask words to do the work of your mind and heart.

I believe in the power of putting thoughts into words and setting them down on paper, playing with them, moving them around the page, and seeing what happens (spoiler alert: it’s always magic).

I believe in the power of stories, especially those we tell ourselves about who we are, have been, and can be.

They can evolve from scripts we rehearse to prescriptions we’ve written on our own hearts, remaining unchecked and without revision for years or a lifetime.

I know that you have stories, too.

I can see how hard it is for you to use the word angry because that’s something you’re not allowed to feel.

I can see how easy it is for you to give praise and attention while you reject compliments and rush to avoid mirrors.

It’s not that you don’t like yourself; you just can’t see your reflection anymore.

You aren’t sure who you’ve been becoming because no one has stopped needing you long enough for you to ask yourself the questions.

Lucky for you, I’m The Riddler who rocks a side ponytail.

I want to see and celebrate you while you see and celebrate yourself.

I will help you remember, reinvent, and become yourself through the words you use.

We all deserve to know ourselves, on and in our own terms.

You ready and terrified and excited?!?

Around here, we call that exciterrified and it’s the exact right feeling—and basically my default state of being.

If this sounds like something you’re into, come to a writing session! If that terrifies you a bit too much, totally fine! Send me an email and we can chat, just the two of us.

Whatever you need, I’m here and I think you’re super cool and there’s nothing you can do about it!
